What is the correct timeline of the Kamen Rider? A summary of the order in which the 20 Heisei Rider films are viewed

出典 :

The Heisei Rider series began with Kamen Rider Kuga in 2000 and continued for 20 films until 2019’s Kamen Rider Zio.
The problem with looking back now that the series is complete is the timeline. There are derivative works and stories from a parallel world, so the timeline is vague and it’s hard to know where to start.
Therefore, we have compiled a list of the order in which to watch Heisei Rider along the timeline. It covers everything from derivative works to parallel world stories, so please take a look at it as a reference.

『Kamen Rider Kuga』

出典 :

Kamen Rider Kuga is the most chronologically straightforward work of all the Heisei riders, since no movie version or V-Cinema was produced.
First, the TV series episodes 1 to 49. After that, it continues to the novel version. In the novel version, you can see how the characters have grown up in the 13 years since the TV series.

『Kamen Rider Agito』

出典 :

The film version of Kamen Rider Agito began to be produced from Kamen Rider Agito.
After the first 33 episodes of the TV series, the story evolved into the TV special “Kamen Rider Agito Special: The New Transformation”.
After the movie version of “Kamen Rider Agito Project G4”, it led to episodes 34 to 51 of the TV series.

『Kamen Rider Ryuki』

出典 :

There are 13 masked riders in “Kamen Rider Ryuki”, so you may be confused by the number of riders, but the timeline itself is not complicated.
The story is completed in the first 50 episodes of the TV series. After that, you can see the characters 16 years after the TV series by watching RIDER TIME Ryuki.

『Kamen Rider555』

出典 :

The first 50 episodes of the TV series are the regular timeline in “Masked Rider 555”.
The movie version of “Kamen Rider 555: Paradise Lost” and the novel version are in a parallel world. If you want to enjoy a different view of the world, try the movie version and the novel version.

『Kamen Rider Blade』

出典 :

The timeline of Kamen Rider Blade is a little more complicated than the four aforementioned films.
The main story is from episode 1 to 49 of the TV series. The movie version of “Kamen Rider Ken MISSING ACE” depicts the world 4 years after the end of the TV series.
In the novel version “Kamen Rider Ken Tasogare” and the drama CD “Kamen Rider Ken Kirifuda no Yukue”, the story unfolds after more years have passed since the movie version.
The last in the timeline is the novel version by Kodansha. The story depicts the world 300 years after the TV series.

『Kamen Rider Hibiki』

出典 :

The timeline of Kamen Rider Hibiki is from the novel version. The novel version is set in the Edo period. Masked riders who were active long before the TV series appear in the novel.
After that, the story evolved from the first episode of the TV series to the 48th episode. It is rare that the story before the TV series is depicted in the Heisei Rider series.
The movie version of “Kamen Rider Hibiki and the Seven Warlords” is a story about a parallel world that is not connected to the TV series.

『Kamen Rider Kabuto』

出典 :

The novel version of Kamen Rider Kabuto depicts the story before the TV series. However, it is a fact that many of the cat pictures can only be understood after watching the TV series. We recommend watching episodes 1 to 49 of the TV series first.
The novel version is divided into four main parts. As it is a complex structure, you should first get familiar with the TV series.

The story before the TV series
Summary of episodes 1 and 2
Summary of episodes 47-49
After the TV series

Kamen Rider Kabuto GOD SPEED LOVE the Movie is a story of a parallel world with no timeline connection.

『Kamen Rider Den-O』

出典 :

Kamen Rider Den-O” is one of the most popular of all the Heisei era’s riders, and many derivative works have been produced.
Some of them were produced after the end of the TV series, and although I thought the timeline was vague, it is surprisingly easy to put them together, so you won’t be confused about the order.
First, episodes 1 to 27 of the TV series. Kamen Rider Den-Oh! The Movie: Ore, The Birth of a New Kid! and leads to episodes 28 to 49 of the TV series.
After the movie version of Saraba Kamen Rider Den-O Final Countdown, we moved on to the novel version. The novel version depicts a world several years after the TV series.

The following works are spin-offs and stories from a parallel world, so you can enjoy them without worrying about the timeline.

『Kamen Rider Kiva』

出典 : timeline of “Kamen Rider Kiva” is very simple compared to the previous work “Kamen Rider Den-O”. The TV series ends in episodes 1 through 48.

The novel version is a retrospective of the TV series, and the movie version below is a story of the spin-offs and parallel worlds, so it is not related to the timeline.

Kamen Rider Den-O & Kiva: Climax Detective
Masked Rider Kiva: King of the Makai Castle

『Kamen Rider Decade』

出典 :

The tenth Heisei era rider, Kamen Rider Decade, is a commemorative work, so it has a complicated timeline with many guest appearances in various works.
After episodes 1 to 23 of the TV series, what follows is the Super Sentai series. This leads to episode 20 of Samurai Sentai Shinkenger.
The TV series episode 24 was followed by episode 21 of “Samurai Sentai Shinkenger”. It then led to episodes 25 to 31 of the TV series and the main story ended.
The movie version of “Kamen Rider W & Decade MOVIE BATTLE 2010”, which was touted as a warning scam, depicts the aftermath of the final episode.
Later, he also made guest appearances in Kamen Rider Wizard and Kamen Rider Joe. He was depicted growing up as a senior rider.
