【The Seven Horsemen of the Marronnier Kingdom】Does the power of the seven brothers have something to do with the identity of their father? Consider its secrets!

I’m going to examine the secrets of the Seven Brothers here, looking for bits and pieces of clues from the characters, events and statements of the story!

The biggest clue is “20 years ago”!

The biggest clue is “20 years ago”! The word “twenty years ago” appears in many of the stories anyway I’m reading the story.

(1) Peregrinus and Baribara came to the Marronnier Kingdom 20 years ago, just after the Great Depression.
(2) The words of the spirits of the land of the long night. ‘Twenty years ago, the landlady’s army trapped God in the tower and wouldn’t return him.’ ‘Twenty years ago, that man made a promise to this world.’ ‘Let’s have him come back to the church at night for the first time in twenty years.’
(3) Twenty years ago Baribara gained great power by destroying a cold country. (Visitor’s words.)
(iv) Twenty years ago, the Great Depression (caused by extreme weather) hit much of the North Country.

Thus, there is no doubt that the story starts 20 years ago, when there were many incidents of some kind.

First, let’s talk about (1).
Before coming to the Kingdom of Marronnier, Baribara was the best military strategist in the “land of armed forces”. The details of the story are not revealed, but he was exiled from the country. And Peregrinus says, “Because of me, Baribara has been unable to return to his country.
From this, we can assume that Peregrinus was the cause of Baribara’s exile from the country 20 years ago.

And (2) suggests that the women’s army = Balibara and the gods trapped in the tower = Pellegrinus. (Actually Pelegrinus wasn’t trapped.)
Then I am convinced that the sons of Peregrinus have magical powers and that the blue flower fairies in the land of long nights called sleeplessness “night”.
Furthermore, with regard to (3), the land of long nights and the land of cold nights believe in the same god (night).
From this, it would also make sense that the great power = God = Peregrinus, which Balibara got 20 years ago by destroying the cold country.

Finally, (4), it is said that the Great Depression occurred because of the global extreme weather conditions that were devastating to crops.
However, the fact that hailstones fell over a wide area across the country makes it difficult to think of this as just bad weather. It is still more natural to think that this was caused by some force.
If Peregrinus was a god, then he would have multiple forces, like the “visitor”, which would include a “cold source”.
It seems to me that 20 years ago, Baribara destroyed the cold country, which caused the “power” of Peregrinus to run amok, and we can speculate that the result was extreme weather.
I’m sure the storyline will eventually put the cold country in the spotlight, so I’ll wait for the truth to be told.

The seven brothers inherited their father’s (God’s) power one by one.

If it is almost certain from the above that Peregrinus is a “god”, then the seven brothers would have inherited the power that Peregrinus had, one by one.

In the land of the long night, the “visitor” turns to Ellie and says, “If you are not one of the seven powers, why do you wear so many blessings? He asks.
This was referring to the sword that Ellie had been entrusted with by her sword boaster before she left the kingdom, and the heat seeker had put a spell on her cloak to make it easier to cut ice.
The brothers said it was “just a comforting spell,” but the effect was great. The normally small form of the hearth spirits said, “For the first time in twenty years, the blessing of the fire has come” and they appeared in much larger form.

The power of the brothers is also thought to be powerful, as they tried to keep the eldest son’s sleeplessness as “night”, which is considered an object of faith in the land of long nights.
After all, it seems that each brother has the power of “God” in his own right!

Consider why visitors go after the brothers

A person who calls himself “The Visitor” is targeting the seven brothers who are believed to have God’s power.
In the land of long nights, the Visitor was stopped by Ellie when she tried to take away the sleeplessness.
There is no doubt that the Visitor is also an outsider, as he is depicted using strange powers in his battle with Ellie, such as controlling ice, fire, and bears and destroying buildings in an instant.
And on that occasion, he said the following.

-I’ve been told that it’s because of Balibara that I’m feeling bad about myself.
I’ll take back every ounce of my strength to be free.
I hope “night (not sleepy)” will take my place.
If you bring the Night to the world where Valpurga lives, I will protect this country from disaster.

These lines show that the visitor’s situation is not what he wants to be in, and that he is trying to get the power of the Seven Brothers in order to get out of such a situation.
But why does the visitor want the power of the Seven Brothers, even though he already has magical powers?
There may be a hint of that in the conversation between the visitor and Valpurga after being rejected by Sleepless.

The visitor says, “I’ll be human,” and Valpurga says, “Like Perigrinus? When I replied, “I’ll do better than him. I will find a proper replacement and make sure that the second and third me doesn’t show up”.
From these words, we can infer that “proper replacement = God” and that “second third me = like a substitute for God”, because Balibara took Peregrinus away before he could hand over his power to the “proper substitute God”, and thus “God’s substitute” was created.

Valpurga also says, “You (the visitor) will disappear one day when this world is full of people like Rollo”.
I can only speculate about this, but it is quite possible that if more people like Rollo don’t believe in the existence of spirits and gods = there are no more people who believe in them, then God and spirits will disappear.
If “God (the surrogate) disappears”, then the visitor is trying to get out of the role that was assigned to him or her by having the seven brothers with the original God’s power take on that role in order to protect him or her….

Why would the visitor want to become so human?
That’s because the visitor wants “to be friends with her and have her named after him when he becomes a human”.
The “she” is a woman who said she helped the visitor name a squirrel he got involved with, and she’s in a castle in the Marronnier Kingdom.
(Speaking of squirrels, the Princess of the Marronnier Kingdom has a big squirrel…)

The origins of the visitors and their relationship to Peregrinus are not formally described in the work at present.
The visitors fail to keep the “night (not sleepy)” in the land of the long night, but then the beastmaster goes to the “land of the creatures”.
Here again, the visitors seem to be planning to keep the Beastmaster in the land of the creatures.
As the story progresses further, the identity and true purpose of the visitors will be revealed.
