Included in Dragon Quest 25th Anniversary Famicom & Super Famicom Dragon Quest I, II and III.
This is a great way to satisfy both nostalgia and ease of play, since both the FC and SFC versions are included.
There are no major changes, but the addition of the “Book of Interruptions” makes it easier to play.

Dragon Quest III (smartphones)

An app for Android and iOS based on the Galaga version.
The price is higher than the I and II versions, but it is still available for 1,200 yen.
While it has the advantage of being easier to play, the quality of the game is better than the SFC version included in the 25th Anniversary Edition.

Dragon Quest III (for PlayStation 4, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch)

DL sales started at the same time as I and II.
Basically, it is a port of the smartphone version, but the 3DS version is easier to play because the map is displayed on the bottom screen.
The price is 1,650 yen, which is slightly higher than the smartphone version.

Dragon Quest IV: The Gifted Ones (PlayStation Edition)

The remake was released in 2001 and was a hit, selling over 1.1 million copies.
The graphics are based on Dragon Quest VII, the only Dracula numbering game to be released on the PS, and the 3D map with an overhead perspective is quite different from the original franchise version.
The addition of the “Immigrant Town” and “Preface” are major changes, but the biggest highlight is the addition of the controversial “Chapter 6” and the inclusion of Pizarro.

It also adds the ability to talk to your friends, giving you a greater sense of your character’s personality.
Most importantly, the addition of “Let me give the orders” means that the AI combat-only system that was controversial in the franchise version is no longer the only system in the game that was controversial.

Dragon Quest IV (Nintendo DS version)

This is the first DS remake project of the The Sky series trilogy, released in 2007.
It’s based on the PS version, but the camera perspective is slightly elevated and the controls have been changed considerably.

There are also a lot of minor tweaks, such as changes to the immigrant town system, but the biggest addition is the addition of face graphics in battle and on the status screen.
This was well received, and while this was the second remake of the game, it sold over 1.2 million copies.

This app is based on the DS version and released in 2014 for Android and iOS.
Basically, it’s close to a solid port and the graphics have been appropriated, so those who have already played the DS version don’t have to force their hand.

Dragon Quest V: Bride in the Sky (PlayStation 2)

This remake was released in 2004 and became a smash hit, selling over 1.6 million copies, the highest ever for a Dracula remake.
Many players were unhappy with the fact that the original SFC version was a three-player party, but this PS2 version has a traditional four-player party, allowing all four members of the family to fight together.
The graphics and controls have been greatly improved, as well as the addition of scenes from Flora’s childhood, the addition of a “specialty” Sugoroku field, and a significant increase in the number of friends and monsters you can leave with.

Along with the SFC version of Dragon Quest 3, this is a masterpiece of a remake, and is considered to be one of the best remakes of the game.
