Dragon Quest Dai’s Big Adventure: What’s going to happen at the end of the new anime? Thoroughly predict the scope and content of the anime adaptation

The broadcast slot is “Dragon Ball” and “Kitaro” Sunday at 9:00 a.m.?

The new animation of Dai Dai University is produced by Toei Animation, one of the biggest animation production companies in Japan.
They have been famous for producing a lot of Jump works for a long time and have produced many big titles such as “Dr. Slump Arale-chan”, “Kinniku Man”, “Dragon Ball”, “Saint Seiya”, “Slam Dunk”, “One Piece”, etc.
Dai Dai Dai’s old anime was also produced by this Toani (then known as Toei Doga), so it was decided to continue the project after 28 years.

One of the main features of Toei is that they have several regular broadcast slots, for example, the Sunday 8:30 slot on TV morning, where Pretty Cure is broadcast, has been broadcasting anime produced by Toei since before Pretty Cure.
And another famous slot is Fuji TV’s Sunday morning 9:00am slot.
As of December 2019, this is that slot where Gegege no Kitaro (6th season) is aired at 9:00 and ONE PIECE is aired at 9:30.

Therefore, Dai Dai may air in either of these slots.
Since ONE PIECE is unlikely to end or move, and Kitaro’s 6th season is in the midst of its final chapter, it seems that broadcasting in the Sunday 9:00 slot is the main focus of the show as the successor to Kitaro.

This 9 o’clock slot will have a span of 1 to 3 years per episode, so at least 4 cool episodes are guaranteed.
If Dai Dai-dae is included in the 9 o’clock slot, it will be possible to broadcast 6 to 7 cool episodes, or even more.

However, the broadcast of Dai Dai-Dai will begin in the fall of 2020.
If Kitaro is finished in March, other productions will fill the two cool seasons of spring and summer.
However, as mentioned before, this is a frame that has been airing the same series for at least a year, so this is an unprecedented experiment.

Therefore, it’s too early to say for sure that Dai Dai Dai will be airing in the 9:00 slot on Sundays, and it’s still an unknown quantity.

The other candidate is TV Tokyo’s weekday 6pm slot.
This slot is also traditionally dominated by jumping titles, with “D.Gray-man”, “Gintama”, and “BLEACH” being aired in this slot as well.
Although it is not a frame owned by Higashi-Anni, it is a frame where works produced by Higashi-Anni have been aired, and it is a frame where one work is often aired over several years, so it is quite possible.

However, it is thought that the main target audience of Dai Dai Dai-daimi is the teenagers in their 40s at the time of the serialization, so it is possible that the series will be broadcasted in a late night anime slot to hit them.
In that case, it would be appropriate to broadcast the series in 3 cools or 4 cools including the split of the series.

Any changes from the original? Will Rust change?

If the show is to be broadcasted in 3 or 4 cool episodes, a large amount of episodes will be cut.
In that case, candidates for cuts would be “The Battle of Zamza”, “The Battle of Oniiwa Castle”, “The episode involving Nova, the hero of the North”, and “The Battle of the Burn Palace”.
The battle at the Burn Palace in particular, even though it’s the final battle, is spread out over quite a few volumes, so it looks like some of the battles may be cut.

On the other hand, as for the addition of an aniori episode, it’s possible if the show is going to air for two years (8 cool episodes), for example, but it’s unlikely to be done otherwise.
Basically, the original will be faithfully recreated and any additions will be limited to changing or supplementing details.

And the most noteworthy aspect for fans is in regards to the end.

In Dai Dai’s last episode, after successfully defeating Daima Burn, Dai is suddenly caught in an explosion caused by the black nuclear crystal of the god of death, Kilburn, and is left alive, dead, and unaccounted for, and everyone waits for him to return….
Eventually the story was completed without Dai’s return.

As a half-breed of a dragon knight and a human, Dai realizes that he is not necessarily acceptable to humans, and before the final battle, he declares that he will leave the earth if he has become too strong and is avoided by the humans.
With his disappearance, the world has a peaceful time without any conflict………
While this ending is highly accomplished, it can also be described as a bitter ending without the main character, which is why there are many fans who wanted the ending to end with Dai’s return.

In addition, it is hinted that there is not only the human world in this work, but also the demon world where the Dark Dragon King Welser is imprisoned, and Sanjo-sensei later said that there was a plan to draw the “Demon World Arc” set in the demon world after the defeat of the Great Demon King Burn.
Therefore, it seems that there are more than a few fans who wish for this arc to be done in the anime.

However, it is difficult to do that much due to the length of the story, and even though there was a plan, it seems to be a bit meandering to say that it is a long drawn-out story after the battle against Burn.
I suppose ending the story with the defeat of the Daima King would be a fitting end to the story.

However, it’s entirely possible that they could have added a stronger sense of Dai’s survival.
If Dai is depicted alive at the end, fans who have been baffled for years might be able to gain a certain level of acceptance.

Summary

Despite the fact that it has been 30 years since the series began and 23 years since its conclusion, immediately after the decision to make it into an anime, “die,” “pop,” “avant-sensei,” and other related words ranked high in the trends across the board, and the special report video received 1.5 million views in 5 days, the level of attention is off the charts!
Pop’s growth in his work, and the coolness of the reformed Hudler, is still regularly discussed online today, and it’s surprisingly well known to the younger generation, so it looks like this anime adaptation could be a re-boom!
I can’t wait to see what it’s going to be about, especially how it’s going to turn out at the end!
