I’ve saved my stock! Spin-offs have also started

The first season of Ajin-chan’s anime used up almost all of the stock from that time and digested up to volume 4 of the original story.
Therefore, in order to produce the second season, it would require four volumes of stock, or up to volume 8.
As mentioned above, that volume 8 will be released in February 2020, so we’ve just saved up the stock we need for the second season.
At least there’s no problem with the stock side of things.
Another major move since the anime adaptation is the start of the spin-off “Occult-chan can’t talk” series, which will begin in 2019.
Published in the same Yanmagasad as Ajin-chan, two volumes have been published to date, with the third volume due to be released at the same time as Ajin-chan volume 8.
Petos-sensei is only supervising, with the original work by Kae Hashimoto-sensei and Hajime Honda-sensei doing the drawings, respectively.
The main character of Occult-chan is Yoko Takahashi, Tetsuo’s niece who also appears in Ajin-chan.
The story follows her as she deals with ghostly and demonic sub-humans, such as a gaping woman, a Nurikabe girl, and a slit-mouthed woman, and builds a bridge between humans and sub-humans with the help of Zashiko, a Zashiki child who lives in her room, and Soma Yasutada, a physicist who also appeared in the Ami-chan anime.
The book has sold well, with the first volume going through two reprints, and has been well received by fans of Ajin-chan.
The start of these spin-offs is a good sign for the second season.
If it started before or after the anime adaptation, it can be seen as a leverage to coincide with the anime adaptation, but there is no direct relationship to the anime, as Okult-chan didn’t start until 2019.
It can be judged as a sign that the magazine and publisher are still focused on Ajin-chan and intent to make it a signature work.
With that in mind, a second season of the Ami-chan anime is still a possibility.
Is the second cross-species boom underway?

Before and after Ajin-chan was made into an anime, there was a bit of a craze for “cross-species stuff” that featured many characters of a different species than humans.
In the summer of 2015, “Everyday Life with Monster Girl” was made into an anime and was a hit.
In the same cool year, “Actually I am” was also made into an anime.
From 2016-2017, “The Wizard’s Wife” was also animated.
In the spring of 2017, “Tsugumo” and “The Trouble with Sentor” were also animated in the summer of the same year, and the number of works with “other-than-human things” had increased considerably.
This cross-species craze could possibly happen again.
There has been a lot of talk about “Xenophobia Reviewers” airing in the winter of 2020, and if this anime breaks out, there is a good chance that a second boom will come.
In recent years, perhaps due to the popularity of “Kemono Friends”, there has been an increase in the number of animal anime where humans and animals live in the same world, and since the reincarnation/transference craze hasn’t stopped, there has been an increase in the number of anime where humans and different species interact with each other.
Because of this, cross-species characters have become familiar to anime fans, and the groundwork has been laid for cross-species characters to become popular.
In fact, in April 2020, the second season of Tsugumomo, which will feature many non-human characters, is scheduled to start for the first time in three years.
While Tsugumo’s first season had lower sales than Ajin-chan’s, the crowdfunding OVA production support project that was implemented in 2019 has been strong, and it’s likely that this trend is partly responsible for the second season of the series.
Based on these facts, a second season of the series is quite possible for Ami-chan if there is some kind of opportunity, such as crowdfunding.
Summary
There’s a lot of interesting episodes after the first season of the anime, and I’d love to see a second season happen!
I think the scene where Sato-sensei tells Tetsuo off about Kyoko’s confession is one of the best scenes in the work, so I’d love it if they could make it into a movie!
