What is the current situation & stock?

One of the reasons why I don’t think a second season of Aobuta will be coming for a while is because of stock issues other than the label.
The first season lasted up to five volumes in one cool season.
That’s a pretty fast pace for an anime based on a romantic comedy or daily life lanobe.
In fact, Sakura-so is up to volume 6 (and technically part of volume 7) in 2 cools, and Eromanga-sensei is also only digesting almost 3 volumes in 1 cool.
This is probably due to the fact that the TV anime and the movie version were planned at the same time.
Since it was decided to work on volume 6 and volume 7 in the film version, it was decided to work on all the episodes in the TV anime.
Because of this, some scenes from the original work were cut out, but the fact that they were able to make it work as a story shows the skill of director Soichi Masui.
Because of this situation, it is not always necessary to have 5 volumes of stock for the second season as well as the first season.
The average light novel anime consumes about 3 volumes of the original work for a cool season, so if we have 3 volumes of stock, we can make a second season.
In February 2020, volume 10 “Youth Piggy Boy Doesn’t See the Dream of a Lost Singer”, which features Uzuki Hirokawa, a member of the idol group “Sweet Bullet” to which Toyohama Nodoka (Toyohama Nodoka) belongs, was released, and the episodes since the movie was made into a movie have accumulated 3 volumes of stock.
That’s enough for one cool volume… but it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to make this volume 10 into an anime.
In other words, volume 10 is the first volume of the second part of the series.
There are a lot of new characters that have been introduced, and it is a bit hard to imagine the second season ending with an episode that has just entered a new chapter.
However, it’s also unrealistic to skip volume 8, which depicts Kaede’s aftermath, and volume 9, which depicts an important episode for Sakita, and start with volume 10.
Therefore, the following three patterns are the most likely ones.
1. volume 8 – volume 11 or volume 12 as two seasons of the TV anime
2. 8 and 9 volumes were made into a movie version of the second volume, and 2 seasons from volume 10.
3. 8 and 9 volumes were made into an OVA, 10 to 2 seasons
1 is the most standard development.
Therefore, it’s quite possible.
2 is also possible because the first movie version was a success.
In that case, it will be made into a movie with the title “High School Completion”.
However, the odds are not high, as the second film version of Dengeki Bunko has rarely been made.
Eromanga-sensei from the same label and the same production company (CloverWorks is A-1 Pictures’ Koenji studio) released an OVA after the first season, so it’s conceivable that a third could be developed.
If it’s 1, the stock is expected to be saved for the end of 2020-2021.
If it’s 2 or 3, it would take until 2021-2022 to get to 12-14 volumes of stock.
Therefore, it’s conceivable that the second season could be left until 2021 at the earliest, and possibly until 2024, the 10th anniversary of the series.
Summary
It’s a work that’s been highly acclaimed for its content and has quite a few loyal fans attached to it, so I’m sure a second season is coming!
I’d love to see the episodes from the theatrical version onwards as well, as they’re all interesting across the board, so I’d definitely like to see them adapted to film.
Let’s trust that they’ll make it happen, no matter how many years it takes!
