Operation feeling of character
“Dead by Daylight” is operated by the controller, but “Identity V” is all operated by touch. The viewpoint has to be changed while moving by touch, and the degree of difficulty of operation is raised as an important game such as confirmation of surroundings. The player who is used to the controller may take time to get used to the unique operation.
In particular, the survivors in the chase have to check behind while running away, so if you make a mistake, they may approach the hunters themselves.
Character point of view
In “Dead by Daylight”, the survivor is a third person viewpoint and the killer is a first person viewpoint. Therefore, behind the killer is a blind spot, and it is possible to formulate strategies such as using the blind spot to toss.
In “Identity V”, survivors and hunters have a third-person viewpoint, so it is difficult to make use of blind spots.
Because of the third-person viewpoint, hunters feel different in size depending on the character. If you do not know the size of each, you may not be able to get caught on the way.
The hunter got the merit of being able to easily check the background by becoming a third person viewpoint.
No cruelty description
“Dead by Daylight” was targeted at over 18 years old, while “Identity” is targeted at a wide range of ages over 9 years.
Therefore, there is no brutal depiction such as bleeding, and the character is also deformed to pop. There is no need to hang the survivors on the hooks, just stick them in the chair. The hunter’s weapon has also been changed to a stuffed toy.
It is a gentle and friendly depiction on the whole, but the sense of presence and tension are thin. It may be a bit unsatisfactory for players who want a sense of tension with reality.
Easy to understand the location of the cryptographic machine
What was a generator in “Dead by Daylight” is changed to a cryptographic machine in “Identity V”. It does not change that generators and cryptographs are scattered on the map.
In the case of ‘Dead by Daylight’, generators had to run around on the map to find out for themselves and to use their abilities to determine their location, and survivors had to take great risks.
In the case of “Identity V”, because the light is lit above the encryption machine, the Survivor can know the approximate position. It’s a big advantage for survivors that they don’t have to take risks and don’t worry about getting lost.
It became difficult for the survivor to hide
The game screen has been set brighter, which makes it easier for the player to grasp the entire screen.
“Dead by Daylight” has a dark screen overall, making it difficult to find just by squatting on the grass, and you can do more work.
However, because the screen is bright, it is easier for hunters to find it even if it is hidden in the grass in the same way. As survivors’ footprints and blood stains have become easier to find, those who are good at stealing will need to change their strategies.
