Part 2: The Crowned Snowfield: An unprecedented exploration of a legend
The new area that you can go to after delivery on October 23, 2020 is the “Kanmuri Snow Field”. As the name “Snowfield” implies, a beautiful snow-covered field awaits the hero upon arrival.
As you explore the snowfield, you’ll come across a number of interesting places, including a small village, mysterious ruins, and a large, mysterious tree. What kind of encounters and adventures await you here?

One of the most notable additions to the Crowned Snowfield is the Dymax Adventure. This new element is an application of Raid Battles in the Wild Area and other areas, and can be played in multi-cooperative mode with up to four players.
However, it differs from Raid Battles in that you do not participate with your own Pokémon, but with rented Pokémon. In the past, Raid Battles made it difficult to participate in other players’ Raid Battles unless you had strong Pokémon.
In Dymax Adventure, you can’t use any of your own Pokémon and can only fight with the Pokémon you rent at the beginning of the game and the Pokémon you meet along the way, so you don’t have to train Pokémon for raids, which is a nice feature.
However, it depends a lot on the strategy and luck of each player participating, so you might want to get used to playing solo or multiplayer with friends a few times before playing with strangers.

Also, with the introduction of Dymax Adventure, you can now meet legendary Pokémon from the previous series. As a specification of the Dymax Adventure, you can easily catch them with a ball that suits the Pokémon, because the catch is always successful. If you haven’t paid attention to the type of ball so far, why not take this opportunity to do so?
In addition to being able to get legendary Pokémon in the past, new legendary Pokémon will also appear in the Crowned Snowfield. Here we’ll take a look at the distinctive looking Budrex that was featured on the Expansion Pass package.

Budrex is classified as a “King Pokémon” because of its slender arms and legs and the large green crown-like thing on its head that does not match its body. In the small village you reach in the story, the existence of Budrex is almost forgotten as an old story, but there is a statue that looks just like Budrex, which is said to be the village’s specialty.
The statue of Budrex is astride a large horse, which actually seems to be a Pokémon that is closely related to Budrex. You may be able to find out what the Budrex of the village folktale is, and who the Pokémon is that Budrex is riding on, by exploring the Kanmuri Underground.
In addition to Budrex, you’ll have a chance to encounter new Legendary Pokémon, such as the new “Resi-type” Pokémon following Resistil, Resi-Ice, and Resi-Rock, and bird Pokémon similar to Thunder, Fire, and Freezer in the Canto Region. It’s a very gorgeous addition to the Crowned Snowfield where you can meet so many legendary Pokémon.

If you don’t have the Pokemon Sword and Shield software yet, I have some good news for you: on November 6, 2020, the Pokemon Sword and Shield software for the Nintendo Switch and the Expansion Pass will be released. On November 6, 2020, the Pokémon Sword + Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield + Expansion Pass will be available for purchase.
If you already own the software, you will only need to purchase the Expansion Pass, so be careful not to buy two passes, as one pass will allow you to play both “Isolated Island of Armor” and “Crowned Snowfield”.
